Spain Coach Vicente Del Bosque is pleased his team are leaving the World Cup in ‘the most dignified way possible.’
The defending champions were already out of the tournament before today’s 3-0 win over Australia in their final Group B match, a victory which means La Roja finally earned the first points of their campaign.
“We close our participation in the tournament in the most dignified way possible,” Del Bosque said after the encounter in Curitiba.
“The players worked very hard and later we took control of the match.
“We have to say [in the earlier games] that we were a little bit off and that Holland and Chile played very well. They were very strong.
“There are still people who can help the national team a lot. I will not rule anyone out due to age.”
Del Bosque then announced his future as boss will be announced in the coming days and weeks.
“My future? It will be in the coming days or next week. There is no rush, we will talk then.”
