Jessica Immobile says her husband Ciro is ready to face Uruguay and eager to show what he can do for Italy.
New Borussia Dortmund striker Immobile is heavily speculated as set to come into the Azzurri’s starting XI for this afternoon’s make or break fixture with the South Americans.
According to his wife of just over a month, who has accompanied him to Brazil for the tournament, he is more than ready to seize the opportunity.
“Ciro Immobile is ready, and not just from now,” Jessica Immobile has told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“We have been married for a just a month, but since he began the training retreat he has told me that he feels prepared and that he will prove it.
“He has put aside the bitterness from the last defeat and want to play great and show everyone what he is made of, and especially now those at Dortmund.
“I have confidence, in my opinion and I hope we win with a goal from Immobile. I am convinced that if we progress into the next round against such a strong team like Uruguay, then we could get to the final.
“I’m not superstitious, I put confidence in this group. The team can do great.”
Immobile is expected to partner Mario Balotelli in attack. The Milan man got engaged during Italy’s training camp in Magaratiba to Fanny Neguesha.
“Fanny Neguesha is an easygoing girl and very nice. She is very different from what many have described.
“I get on well with her, I hope that Ciro and Mario on the field will do the same. There is great harmony with the other wives and girlfriends.
“I know the girls of those who have played with my husband, whilst I am fine with the others.”
