Mexico Coach Miguel Herrera said Arjen Robben “threw himself to the floor” for the decisive Dutch penalty.

El Tri had been leading 1-0 until the 87th minute, but Wesley Sneijder’s strike and a Jan Klaas Huntelaar penalty turned it all around for 2-1 in Fortaleza.

“It was a World Cup in which everything was against Mexico from the start,” said Herrera.

“Robben threw himself to the floor three times and no-one said anything to him.”

However, the Coach did confess that Mexico didn’t make the most of their lead as time wore on.

“After going 1-0 up the team retreated and that cost us, allowing chances to a side that previously had created nothing. Thanks for the support, but we weren’t able to achieve the objective.

“We made a mistake for the first goal because we left someone unmarked. We have done a good job.”
