“The club has had discussions with the Coach and we hope to reach an agreement soon,” he told reporters in Milan.
“We have always worked on the idea that he will stay for at least another two years, and we believe that is a good thing.
“Last season was a transitional one for us and now we want to build a team with Mazzarri as its leader.
“The goal for next season is Europe, but one cannot predict the future. Who’d have thought Costa Rica would do as well as they have at the World Cup?
“Competing for a Champions League place takes time – now we want to focus on the group stage of the Europa League and see.
“It’s important to have a great team with quality players, but it’s also important to build a united group.”
