Manuel Pasqual’s agent has called on Fiorentina to ‘clarify’ his position amid growing links to Napoli.
The Vesuviani have been speculated in recent days as contemplating a move for the 32-year-old left-back, just as La Viola have been linked with a number of supposed targets based in his position.
For the club captain’s agent, the time has come for clarification from Fiorentina.
“Is Pasqual leaving Fiorentina? I don’t know…that is for Fiorentina to clarify,” Gastone Rizzato has commented this week to Violanews.com.
“I have not heard anything, I have not spoken with Napoli.
“This was the situation a few months ago - Manuel was a point of reference, I think he still is, otherwise we would have been notified.
“Pasqual to stay at Fiorentina then to the end of his career? Marriages are between two, wants counts is not only the will of the player.”
Pasqual’s form last season had earned him a spot in Italy’s provisional World Cup squad, only for him to be one of the seven to miss Cesare Prandelli’s final cut for the tournament proper.
“It seems to me that one of the major problems for the national team has been on the left wing,” Rizzato has continued.
“I have seen so many difficulties, like also how Italy lacked an attacking player capable of rectifying games, even during their course. A champion to be used in a case of difficulty, someone like Pepito Rossi.”
