Eduardo Vargas will be at Napoli next season after impressing at the World Cup, his agent has insisted.
The Chile international spent the second half of last season on loan at Valencia, but was one of the stand-out performers in Brazil, shining alongside Alexis Sanchez for La Roja.
And his representative has claimed that the goalscorer will be staying at the Partenopei for the upcoming campaign.
“I spoke with Napoli on Tuesday,” Cristian Ogalde told emol.com. “And the contract with them is still in force.
“They consider him an important part of the squad, and are looking forward to him starting pre-season.
“They told me that they were delighted with Eduardo at the World Cup.
“Mazzarri didn’t really like him, but with Benitez it’s a different story.”
