Napoli are seen as struggling to compete with Arsenal for Morgan Schneiderlin and apparently have eyes set on Toby Alderweireld.
The Vesuviani are speculated as in the market this summer for defensive recruitments and were suggested recently as one of a number of clubs interested in Southampton’s France international Schneiderlin.
However, reports in Britain indicate that financially, the club may not be prepared to compete with other interested parties, including Arsenal.
The Gunners are apparently willing to pay up to £20m, around €25m, for the 24-year-old, whilst Napoli are seen as only ready to place offers of around £12m, approximately €15m.
Il Mattino follow this up with the suggestion that Rafa Benitez’s side are considering other targets and that these include Atletico Madrid’s Toby Alderweireld.
The Belgium international only joined Los Colchoneros last August, but is seen as in Napoli’s viewfinder for potential further interest.
