Mathieu Valbuena saw France “lack attacking efficiency” in their World Cup quarter-final defeat to Germany.
“It’s hard to go out like this,” he told beIN Sports after a 1-0 loss in Rio de Janeiro.
“We had such a wonderful experience so far in the tournament and it’s a shame to stop when we were doing so well.
“We lacked attacking efficiency today. Germany didn’t have many opportunities, but they still managed to convert one of them.
“We are really suffering now, as we wanted to go all the way in this World Cup. We gave everything, but it was not enough.”
