L’Equipe claim Juventus starlet Paul Pogba sparked a bidding war between Manchester City, Real Madrid and Manchester United.

The midfielder’s price-tag has only climbed after his performances for France in the World Cup.

According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Manchester City have climbed into the lead in the race to sign Pogba, seeing him as the ideal replacement for unsettled Yaya Touré.

As Touré is heading towards PSG, that would rule the Parisians out of the race for Pogba.

City have the funds to reach Juve’s price-tag, which is believed to be anything from €80m to €100m.

Real Madrid are also contenders, though are unaccustomed to paying such large sums for a midfielder.

Manchester United want Pogba back, but having released him as a teenager when his contract expired, they would have to pay a huge sum for his return.
