Fiorentina are reportedly intensifying their interest in Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta.
The Viola have long been linked with the Spaniard, who would help reinforce a squad that already includes Juan Guillermo Cuadrado, David Pizarro, Mario Gomez, Giuseppe Rossi and Borja Valero.
According to The Guardian, Fiorentina are stepping up their attempts to sign Arteta after receiving signals from Arsenal that they’re open to talks.
Arteta would be the cheaper alternative to another Viola target, Manchester United’s Belgian international Marouane Fellaini.
It’s reported Fellaini would be available for around £15m.
