Milan return to training today to start preparations for the new season, but Stephan El Shaarawy has already begun work.

Those first team members who were not part of any World Cup squads will be back at Milanello this afternoon for their first physical tests of the summer.

The likes of Alex, Kevin Constant and Giampaolo Pazzini will all get to work with new Coach Pippo Inzaghi for the first time.

But El Shaarawy will have a head-start on those players, having spent the last week in the gym to make sure he’s at 100 per cent for the upcoming campaign.

The young striker was plagued by injuries last term, and missed out on Italy’s World Cup squad as a result.

But the Azzurri international is seemingly ready for 2014-15, putting in extra shifts in order to lead the line come August.

The first team squad will be put through their paces by the physios, but will be back with a ball at their feet on Friday.
