West Ham look set to miss out on Sampdoria’s Pedro Obiang, but close in on Ecuador striker Enner Valencia.
The Hammers are active on the transfer market this summer and, according to the Corriere dello Sport, are increasing the pressure on Samp midfielder Obiang.
However, the same paper insists the Blucerchiati have no intention of letting him go, having already rejected offers from Milan, Juventus and Roma.
Obiang is a 22-year-old central midfielder born in Spain and was in the Atletico Madrid academy before joining Samp in 2008.
Meanwhile, Sky Sport Italia claim West Ham are on the verge of signing Ecuador’s World Cup hero Enner Valencia from Pachuca.
The move is believed to be worth €10m and he’s due to fly in for his medical over the weekend.
Valencia is 24 years old and scored three goals in the World Cup for Ecuador.
