Joachim Low not only feels Germany can write history against Argentina in the World Cup Final, but also start a winning era.

So far only Brazil and Italy have won more than three World Cups, but Germany can get their fourth tomorrow night in Rio de Janeiro.

They can also become the first European side to win the trophy on South American soil.

“In the past we never had this, so we know we can write history,” Low said in a Press conference.

So far only Brazil and Italy have won more than three World Cups, but Germany can get their fourth tomorrow night in Rio de Janeiro.

They can also become the first European side to win the trophy on South American soil.

“In the past we never had this, so we know we can write history,” Low said in a Press conference.

“Latin Americans, on this continent, have dominated all the time. So why can we not be the first?

“This could be considered an additional joy for us if we were to win as Europeans on Latin American soil.”

Low also looks to the future, as this young German side can go on to dominate football the way Spain did from 2008 to 2012.

“Time will tell. We have players right now who are playing at their peak, but we have young players also in the squad and others who aren't even here.

“Players with a fantastic future: Gundogan, Reus, Özil, Schurrle, Muller… they can go on to play for a number of years.

“We can play on top of the world for a good few years yet, with some young players coming in to reinforce the team. But let's concentrate on tomorrow's game first.”

Lionel Messi is without doubt the star player for Argentina, but Low warns it is not a one-man show.

“We don't have any fear whatsoever. This team is not only about Messi. If you believed it was, you'd be making a mistake.

“They have Di Maria, Aguero, Higuain… it's not a team dependent on Messi. He is a player who can really determine a match, but this team is better organised and this is what they've shown over the tournament.

“I think it will be a gripping Final. They will try and keep possession and attack. It's going to be two teams at exactly the same level facing each other.

“We have the confidence and the respect for our opponents' strength, but we believe if we can impose our game, we will win.”
