Vincenzo Montella admits Fiorentina’s chances of keeping Juan Cuadrado depend on “his aspirations and clubs who can pay.”
The winger’s price-tag has soared well above €30m due to his performances for Colombia in the World Cup, as the likes of Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are interested.
“We need to evaluate the player’s aspirations and, above all, if there is a club out there that can pay what he is truly worth,” said the Coach.
Montella spoke to Sky Sport Italia after the opening pre-season friendly, an 8-2 victory over Trentino Team.
“We are still constructing. The basic skeleton of the squad is good, but we need to perfect some things and are working on it with the club.
“We need patience. I’m evaluating some young players during pre-season and we’ll see what the future holds.”
Giuseppe Rossi did not take part in Saturday’s friendly victory.
“He is fine, I left him out due to various reasons, including my desire to test a few others in that role.”
