Former Lazio defender Giuseppe Biava claims that the capital club should go all-out to sign Davide Astori.
The Cagliari centre-back has been heavily linked with a switch to the Stadio Olimpico this summer, but negotiations seemed to have stalled in recent weeks.
The 27-year-old is thought to be angling for a move to Inter – but Manchester City are also rumoured to be in the hunt.
However, the 37-year-old, who was released by Stefano Pioli’s men at the end of the season, believes that Astori has the quality to do well for the Aquile.
“Astori is a player with real class,” Biava told Radiosei. “He can definitely do well at Lazio.
“If the deal goes ahead, it would be a great buy for Lazio, that’s for sure.
“With him, they would be in good hands.”
