Genoa Coach Gian Piero Gasperini admits his side will need to sign another forward before the start of the season.

The Rossoblu recently lost Alberto Gilardino to Chinese outfit Guangzhou Evergrande but have brought in Alessandro Matri on loan from Milan.

At a Press conference today, the Luigi Ferraris boss said that while another attacking player is needed, he is happy with the core of his squad.

“The team has changed a lot but the core is there,” Gasperini told reporters upon the team’s return for pre-season training.

“The attacker to partner Matri? We are not in a position to make a shopping list, but we need something in all departments.

“In defence, we have our guarantees who are De Maio, Marchese and Burdisso. Antonini? We’ll see.

“In midfield we are fine while in attack we need a reserve striker.

“Vrsaljko? He will leave and will need to be replaced.”
