Hernan Crespo is new Coach of the Parma youth team, but reveals he’d “given my word to Clarence Seedorf” at Milan.

The former Lazio” data-scaytid=”7″>Lazio, Inter, Milan and Chelsea striker returned ‘home’ to the Stadio Tardini as the manager of their Primavera side this week.

“Coming home in this new guise is really satisfying and I feel very priviledged,” said Crespo at his presentation.

“I am nobody yet as a Coach, so I thank Parma for giving me this opportunity. The team must realise it is part of a great club.”

Crespo confirmed rumours that he had been set to join Milan as Seedorf’s assistant manager before the Dutchman was sacked.

“There was a proposal from Parma in recent months, but I had given my word to Seedorf at Milan, then for numerous reasons I ended up coming here.

“I could’ve taken over a club side in Argentina, but I turned it down. Now I am focused on the present and on Parma.

“I am excited by the idea of an important project and it is great to work with players.”
