The Morocco international had been on the verge of a transfer to the Premier League, but the negotiations faltered and the club went for Eliaquim Mangala instead.
Benatia was back in training with the rest of the Giallorossi today and spoke to fans, telling them he “would probably stay here.”
They in turn ‘forgave’ him for wanting a move away from the Stadio Olimpico.
However, Sky Sport Italia suggest this evening that the saga might not be over after all, as Chelsea are now interested in Benatia.

Some English papers had already run this link over the last few days, but now Italian sources are beginning to back it up.
Roma need funds after shelling out €22m for Verona striker Juan Manuel Iturbe tonight, though reports suggest the real figure is closer to €30m with various add-ons and agent fees.
