There are no Italian or Serie A based players included in UEFA’s 10-man shortlist for their Player of the Year award.
European football’s governing body announced the candidates today, with the winner set to be names at the ceremony for the draw for the Champions League Group Stage on August 28.
Notable absences from the list include Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Gareth Bale and Neymar, but three of Gemany's World Cup winning squad are included.
James Rodriguez is also among the nominees, alongside perennial contenders Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
