Andrea Della Valle said Fiorentina will “try to keep” Juan Cuadrado and reveals David Pizarro “signed a renewal last night.”

The patron spoke to Radio Blu at their Moena pre-season training camp and covered several big stories.

“Cuadrado’s future? When he returns we want to see if he shows us the desire to stay in Florence. If he really does want to remain. We’ll talk to him and look him in the eye to resolve the situation.

“It’s complicated, but not impossible. I’ll do everything I can, even with many sacrifices, but if the lad is no longer motivated to stay here then we can only accept that and move on.

“However, at the moment I don’t get that sensation from him.”

Cuadrado’s performances in Serie A, the Europa League and Coppa Italia already made him hot transfer property, but Colombia’s World Cup campaign pushed him into the stratosphere.

Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester United are among the big clubs interested and the price-tag a minimum of €30m.

Della Valle revealed there is another player who will remain in the Viola jersey despite strong reports he would walk away.

“I had no doubts Pizarro would accept the one-year contract we proposed. He signed last night. I hope to renew it every year, as the player has great quality.

“We are examining Federico Bernardeschi and Kouma Babacar, but the final decision is down to Vincenzo Montella. They have come up through our youth academy and if there is a possibility, we’ll give them a chance.”

Asked about a move for Argentina international defender Jose Maria Basanta, ADV confessed “there is a very good chance, but we haven’t concluded the deal yet.”
