Sassuolo insist talk of Leonardo Pavoletti joining Hoffenheim is premature. “We are evaluating several offers.”
The 25-year-old became a star in Serie B at Varese last season, scoring 24 goals in 38 games, including four in the relegation play-outs.
Sky Sport Italia claimed on Friday that Pavoletti had already agreed terms with German club Hoffenheim, beating offers from Leeds United, Cagliari and Genoa.
“I don’t know anything about that,” assured Sassuolo director general Nereo Bonato on Sportitalia.
“I can say, however, that there is a third club along with Cagliari and Genoa interested in the player.
“As for the timing, if something were to happen then we’d discuss it next week.”
