French media claim Roma presented a formal offer to Monaco for Yannick Ferreira Carrasco.
The midfielder had already been linked with the Giallorossi, but according to le10sport this situation has taken a step forward.
The French portal claims a formal offer has been received by Monaco to sign the 20-year-old Belgian left winger.
Although the sum proposed has not been released, Carrasco is expected to make the move to Serie A for around €5m.
His current contract with Monaco expires in June 2015 and they do not want to risk losing him on a free transfer.
Carrasco grew up in the Genk youth academy, but has been in Monaco since 2010.
