Marek Hamsik believes now Napoli have Michu and “wardrobe” Kalidou Koulibaly, they “can achieve it all.”

The Slovak midfielder spoke in a Press conference at their Dimaro pre-season training camp.

“We want to do better than last season. Our targets are to win the Scudetto, win the Coppa Italia and go as far as possible in the Champions League.

“We have what it takes to achieve all of those. It’s true that at times individual players make the difference, but mostly the squad gets results.”

Hamsik had a disappointing campaign, scoring only six goals and putting in poor performances after a long injury lay-off.

“I want this to be Hamsik’s Napoli. Juventus and Roma had an extraordinary season, but we are not inferior to those teams. We just lacked a little consistency, especially in January. Rafa Benitez is a winner and that really helps us.”

Juve have dominated Serie A for three years, but with Antonio Conte’s sudden departure and the arrival of Massimiliano Allegri, the situation could well change.

“Juventus will change, as it won’t be the same team under Allegri, but perhaps this situation will allow them to find new motivation straight away. Roma will be in the Champions League, so we’ll see how they handle being in two competitions.”

Napoli have brought in reinforcements and Hamsik is impressed with the new arrivals.

“Koulibaly is the size of a wardrobe! Michu is a tall hitman, strong in the air and physical, so we needed someone like him.

“It would be fantastic for the whole city to win the Scudetto, but we have to be perfect or it becomes difficult. We are strong and can target the top.

“Juve remain the favourites in any case, even if the two Milan clubs will be stronger this year.”
