Juventus have confirmed that Alvaro Morata will be out of action for the next 50 days, after injuring a ligament in his left knee.
The striker was initially confirmed yesterday evening as having sprained his knee, with speculation that if he did not require surgery, the injury would sideline him for between 30 and 40 days.
The Bianconeri have confirmed in a brief statement released on their website today that a morning MRI scan has highlight a second-degree injury to the medial collateral ligament in the joint.
“The prognosis for full functional recovery is 50 days,” concludes the club in their communication.
It is an immediate blow for the 21-year-old forward, who only signed with Juve at the weekend and suffered this injury in only his first training session with the club.
