Catania pick up Rosina

Catania have confirmed that they have completed the signing of journeyman attacking midfielder Alessandro Rosina.

The 30-year-old, who has had spells previous with Parma, Torino, Zenit St Petersburg and Cesena, spent last season on the books at Siena.

However, following their bankruptcy, he has today officially joined the Sicilians, in their bid to return to Serie A at the first time of asking.

“Catania announces that it has acquired outright the rights to player Alessandro Rosina,” a club statement released today confirms, before detailing the player’s career and then listing quotes from him.

“I thank the CEO and President - for the last month they have always shown their intent to complete this deal,” Rosina has commented.

“I am sure I can repay their faith and I extend my thanks to the Coach [Maurizio Pellegrino] because I know that he also pushed for this resolution and that makes me happy.

“Let me also extend a greeting to the fans and particularly those on my Twitter profile - I hope I can reciprocate with performances and goals and to hit the only objective, Serie A.

“We look ahead knowing that Serie B will not be easy, that it hides many pitfalls, but the environment is positive, I have noticed the strength of the group and this will help us a lot.”
