Sime Vrsaljko believes his switch from Genoa to Sassuolo is ‘a great opportunity to grow’.
The Croatia international surprised many by leaving the Grifone for the Neroverdi last week, but the defender has insisted that he made the right choice.
“I’m very happy to be here because I feel this is a great opportunity for me to grow,” he told reporters.
“Sassuolo have a lot of young players with plenty of potential. I see here the opportunity to play and improve as a player.
“I’m used to playing in either a back four or five, so it’s entirely up to the Coach where he wants to use me.
“It’s great to be here. It feels like a family. The first year after promotion is always difficult – this year will be better.”
