Pippo Inzaghi chose to take positives from Milan’s defeat to Olympiacos whilst promising when he has a full squad: “we will be another team.”
For their new Coach, though, the Diavolo were not expected in their current condition to do much more.
“The international players arrived three days ago and could not play. I already had to include De Sciglio and Honda because numerically we were quite low,” explained Inzaghi post-match.
“I knew what the risks were, we arrived a day-and-a-half ago and we could not train. We knew that they were ahead of us in condition.
“Now we do not look at the results, I am watching the performance. When we have everyone we will be another team. But I like the spirit that was there, the desire of everyone.
“We had some chances. We were not brilliant, but let’s move on. Yesterday we had a trip where we arrived at 2am after a full day.
“Today it is important that no-one has been hurt. Hopefully it is nothing with Saponara [who departed in discomfort in the second half].
“It is important to be in this competition because we are facing some high level teams and then we have so many fans in America.
“We managed some good combinations, we must go forward, the system of play has chances to overlap on the wings.
“We take the positives, the negatives we will improve, when we are all here it is going to be another Milan.”
