Cardiff City warned Inter “we’ve made it clear what our price is and that won’t change” for Gary Medel.

Cardiff City warned Inter “we’ve made it clear what our price is and that won’t change” for Gary Medel.

The Negotiations have been dragging on for weeks and the Nerazzurri are refusing to reach the £10m (€12m) valuation, offering only a loan worth £1m plus option to buy for a further £7m.

Now Galatasaray and a German club are reported to be making offers that match Cardiff’s demands, so the Welsh club is ready to slam the door.

“We are not going to take a loss on a player who was a World Cup star in Brazil,” Cardiff City chairman Mehmet Dalman told WalesOnline.

“We have made it clear what our price is and that won’t change.”

Medel was signed from Sevilla for £11m a year ago and if anything his valuation has risen since then, but Inter are hoping to rely on his eagerness to leave a relegated club.

“We will do the right thing for Cardiff City and the player. Our position has not changed.

“There are clubs interested in him, but we have not reached agreement with anybody so far.

“We will not take a loss on a player who did so well for Chile in Brazil.”
