Raul Albiol won’t hide his Napoli ambitions this season. “I want the Scudetto and Italian Super Cup.”
The Spanish defender reportedly turned down an offer from Manchester City this summer,
“The President is right, as this season we have to target the Scudetto, but I want the Italian Super Cup too,” he told Tuttosport.
This will be between Coppa Italia holders Napoli and Scudetto winners Juventus.
It is traditionally played in August, but the Champions League commitments mean it is moved to December, though a venue has not yet been chosen.
“At the moment, our main objective must be getting through the Champions League preliminary round. That is fundamental for our campaign.
“We are a good team and have to aim high. It will be a long, hard slog, but all of us here at Napoli want to give the fans another Scudetto celebration.
“It was very satisfying to lift the Coppa Italia in my first year in Italy. Now we must improve in defence and not concede so many goals.
“Kalidou Koulibaly will help us make the back four more solid, as he’s quick, strong and plays the ball well.”
