The latest striker to fill in for Alvaro Morata at Juventus is said to be Roma’s Marco Borriello.

The Bianconeri are seeking a short-term forward of “medium profile” for the start of the season, as new buy Morata picked up a knee injury in his first training session.

As the ex-Real Madrid talent will be out of action for at least six weeks, Coach Massimiliano Allegri wants another option.

According to the latest reports, Borriello has jumped to the top of the wish-list.

He’d be available on loan and is the right type of centre-forward to replace Morata in their system.

It would be a return to Turin for Borriello, who played here on loan from January to June 2012, scoring two Serie A goals in 13 appearances.

The 32-year-old has been on a series of loans in recent years, failing to settle at Juve, Genoa and most recently West Ham.
