Genoa have beaten Savona 3-1 this evening thanks to strikes from Diego Perotti, Leandro Greco and an own goal from Ivan Marconi.
Gian Piero Gasperini included a mix of youth and experience for the game against their lower League opponents.
But it was the third-tier side who took the lead, as Giuseppe Carta netted inside four minutes.
The Serie A outfit eventually shown their class though, as Perotti struck home and Marconi poked past his own goalkeeper to give the Grifone the lead.
Greco scored just before the break to make it 3-1, and despite a number of changes, that was the end of the scoring.
Genoa: Bizzarri, Sampirisi, De Maio (c), Izzo, Greco, Ragusa, Marsura, Panico, Mandragora, Alhassan, Rosi
