Empoli have cruised past Scandicci this evening, winning a comfortable friendly 4-0.
Maurizio Sarri named a relatively strong line-up for the game against the Tuscan outfit. The likes of Elseid Hysaj and Simone Verdi started, but it was Massimo Maccarone who opened the scoring early on.
The newly-promoted top-flight outfit were far superior to their lower League opponents, and it was soon two. Francesco Tavano struck midway through the opening 45, before Levan Mchedlidze tripled their lead before the break.
A number of changes were made at the break, but that didn’t stop the scoring as Emanuele Rovini struck in the second half to complete the win.
Empoli: Bassi; Laurini, Barba, Rugani, Hysaj; Moro, Valdifiori, Croce; Verdi; Tavano, Maccarone
