Rossi nets for Fiorentina, but…

Giuseppe Rossi has managed a goal in Brazil during the summer of 2014, but it was not enough for Fiorentina against Palmeiras.

La Viola have continued their tour of South America with a 2-1 defeat overnight to Palmeiras, thanks to first-half goals from Vitor Luis and Leandro.

Fiorentina, who defeated Estudiantes last weekend and will play Universitario on Saturday, did pull one goal back during the second half through Giuseppe Rossi.

The striker, who missed out on a spot in Cesare Prandelli's Italy squad for the World Cup, was a notable performer against Palmeiras.
