The Sampdoria goalkeeper spent last season on loan at the French club, but despite playing second fiddle to Danijel Subasic for the majority campaign has claimed that he wants a permanent move because of his daughter.

“I would like to play at Monaco,” he told reporters in Argentina.

“Mainly because my daughter does not want to part from her classmates.

“We have been talking with the club for the whole time since I’ve been holiday.”

The Samp man impressed for Argentina at the World Cup, and has been heavily linked with a switch to the Lisbon side.
