The full-back has pulled in speculation over his future in Turin this summer following his performances towards the back end of last season and his inclusion in Italy’s World Cup squad.

Whilst missing yesterday’s Europa League Third qualifying round first leg win due to his delayed return to pre-season following that World Cup activity, Darmian remains in the news.

Speculation has grown this week in particular of possible interest from elsewhere and today the Gazzetta dello Sport assert that an offer from Atletico Madrid has been tabled.

Believed to be €9m, Toro have reportedly turned it down and are described by the publication as unwilling to even consider Roma’s apparent plan to offer an initial loan deal and purchase option for Darmian.
