Dodo admits that facing Roma as an Inter player will be ‘a strange feeling’ comparing it to ‘like seeing your ex-girlfriend’.
The Brazilian defender completed an initial loan move to the Nerazzurri earlier this summer, but will quickly be reunited with his Giallorossi ex-teammates this weekend in the International Champions Cup clash in Pennsylvania.
“It will be a bit weird,” Dodo has considered in conversation today with Sky Sport Italia.
“Coming up against them will be like seeing your ex-girlfriend shortly after the end of the relationship, together with someone else.
“It is a strange feeling, perhaps a little bad to begin with, but I will be prepared for the match for this competition.”
The 22-year-old was asked to compare and contrast Rudi Garcia with Walter Mazzarri.
“Everyone has their own way of working. At Roma, when I encountered Garcia he was in his first year in the Italian League and did not know the language very well.
“Mazzarri, however, is now in a second year at Inter and knows Italian football and every day there is lots of advice.
“At a management level of the squad I would say that I have found a difference.”
Another difference is the formation pre-season has been spent in. Whilst Mazzarri will trial a four-man back-line, so far Dodo has been learning the three-man system.
“I had never played in a three-man defence in my career, but I am learning and getting used to it.
“I have to play a little further back, but with the help of my teammate I can do well in this formation, despite having always previously played in a back-four.”
Inter are in line to pick up Dani Osvaldo on loan from Southampton.
“He can contribute a lot to the team. He is a striker who scores a lot and has fantastic feet. He will definitely give us a hand.”
