Torino: 'If Cerci is unmotivated...'

Torino President Urbano Cairo alerted Milan and Atletico Madrid. “If Alessio Cerci isn’t motivated, there’s no point keeping him.”

The Italy international is hot property on the transfer market and a prime target for these two clubs, among others.

“We’ve talked about Cerci so much,” sighed Cairo on Radio 24 this afternoon.

“It’s simple, really: if he is happy to remain at Torino, then I am the first who wants to keep hold of him.

“However, if the lad has different needs then it becomes difficult to keep hold of him. It is also inopportune to hold back such an important player if he isn’t motivated.

“If Cerci isn’t motivated, then there’s no point keeping him.”

The Granata are marching towards the Europa Leaguen proper after a 3-0 away victory in the first play-off leg in Stockholm last night.

“Brommapojkarna have already played 16 games in their League and are therefore at a much more advanced stage of training.

“We must take the Europa League very seriously, giving our all and trying for a big squad with the right options available.”
