Argentina international Jose Maria Basanta said Fiorentina are “a very important step in my career.”
The 30-year-old centre-back played in the World Cup and got a silver medal this summer, completing his transfer from Monterrey today.
“This is a very important step in my career,” Basanta told Viola Channel.
“I arrive with great enthusiasm, knowing this is a team that must fight for the title. This motivates me even more.
“I am here to give my contribution so that the side can achieve all its planned objectives.
“Thanks to watching television I know many of my new teammates, including my fellow Argentines Gonzalo Rodriguez and Facundo Roncaglia.
“I can’t wait to repay the affection of the fans with my performances on the field and hope together we can win a trophy this season.”
