There are reports Samuel Eto’o is already en route to Italy to sign a contract with Roma.
Portuguese newspaper O Jogo online edition claims this evening that the former Inter and Chelsea striker has agreed a move back to Serie A.
The 33-year-old Cameroon international is expected to touch down in Rome over the weekend in order to put pen to paper.
However, La Gazzetta dello Sport insists it contacted Roma directors and was told there are no negotiations, let alone a deal.
He is currently a free agent after his Chelsea contract expired, but has also been linked with West Ham.
