Rafa Benitez was impressed with the new Napoli buys, but warned “Juventus and Roma have the Scudetto advantage.”
The Partenopei beat Greek side PAOK 2-0 at the Stadio San Paolo last night with goals from Jose Callejon and Josip Radosevic.
“If we make good signings it is because Riccardo Bigon and his staff work so well,” Benitez told Sky Sport Italia.
“Kalidou Koulibaly is a player with the characteristics we were looking for in defence.
“Edu Vargas likes to cut in from the flank and has the quality to do that, but we need to help him with the full-backs. He had a good World Cup with Chile, but we’ve only been working with him for a week, so he still needs to find his form.
“In these three pre-season games we have seen Marek Hamsik is closer to the ‘real’ version we knew. He is showing his quality, while he also seems to me more concentrated and responsible.”
However, the Coach remained cool on Serie A title talk, even after Antonio Conte left Juventus.
“For the Scudetto Roma and Juventus start with an advantage. We also saw Inter have constructed a younger team with more intensity.
“All three of them will be difficult to beat, but we mustn’t forget Fiorentina and Milan too.”
