There are reports Pepe Reina is negotiating a termination with Liverpool, which would leave him free to re-join Napoli.
The goalkeeper spent last season at the Stadio San Paolo on loan, but the two clubs were unable to negotiate a permanent deal.
According to Sky Sport Italia this evening, Reina is in negotiations with Liverpool to terminate his contract by mutual consent.
This would make the Spaniard a free agent and able to agree personal terms with any club he chooses.
While there were rumours over the weekend that Milan were also interested, it’s believed the only genuine challengers to Napoli are Bayern Munich.
Reina would be a back-up to Manuel Neuer, so may well prefer first team football in Serie A and the Champions League with Napoli.
