Roma have confirmed that Leandro Castan’s hamstring injury suffered against Inter is not as serious as first feared.
The defender had to be substituted early on after picking up the knock during the 2-0 pre-season friendly defeat to the Nerazzurri.
At the time it was feared that he would miss the start of the Serie A season but, in a statement released this evening, the Giallorossi announced Castan would return to full training shortly.
“The player Leandro Castan underwent an ultrasound examination during the day today that did not show up a muscular injury, but a contracture of the bicep in his right leg," the statement reads.
“The player has already recovered from the incident and he will continue normal activity during the training camp in Austria.”
