The Milan attacker has been heavily linked with a switch away from San Siro this summer, with Orlando City and Besiktas thought to be keen.
However, the Brazilian side’s chief has insisted that negotiations are going well and a move could be official soon.
“Although several Italian outlets have taken for granted the return of Robinho, I can inform you that negotiations are progressing well,” Odilio Rodrigues told Santos TV.
“We are doing everything possible to sign the player – he has also lowered his initial demands.
“We have great hope that the deal will be closed soon. We hope to give the fans this gift as soon as possible.”
