Hellas Verona are the latest Serie A club to pledge their FIGC vote to Carlo Tavecchio.
There were several undecided sides, but it looks as if Tavecchio will comfortably beat Demetrio Albertini in tomorrow’s Presidential election.
“Hellas Verona FC clarify their position, with regards to the Federal election, and confirm the vote expressed for the programme outlined on July 24.
“The values of that programme are united with the principles our club has always expressed.”
During that meeting in July, 18 out of 20 Serie A clubs agreed to vote for Tavecchio, along with the Lega Serie B, Lega Pro and LND.
However, Tavecchio made racist comments in a speech and subsequently faced numerous calls to step down.
He ignored them, insisting he had apologised for the ‘gaffe’ and continued to have the support of the majority.
Today undecided Atalanta and Verona have pledged themselves to Tavecchio.
Cesena also gave him their vote, despite being one of nine Serie A clubs who signed a letter asking both Tavecchio and Albertini to step down.
