The Gazzetta dello Sport suggest that Genoa face late competition from Palermo for Inter defender Matias Silvestre.
The Argentine centre-back is expected to leave San Siro this summer after struggling during two years so far with the Nerazzurri, the second of which was spent on loan with city rivals Milan.
Enrico Preziosi’s Genoa were seen as in pole position to land the 29-year-old, reportedly having already agreed terms with Inter over an initial loan.
However, the Gazzetta dello Sport report that Silvestre’s former club Palermo have recently come into the picture and may even have pulled ahead of the Grifone in negotiations.
