Sampdoria confirm they have signed goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano from newly promoted Serie A side Palermo.
The 28-year-old joined the Sicilian club in January 2012 but fell out of favour and had loan spells at Fiorentina and Arsenal.
“On the day of the 68th birthday of Sampdoria, President Massimo Ferrero gifts Sinisa Mihajlovic and all the Blucerchiati fans official confirmation of the signing of Emiliano Viviano,” a statement on Samp’s official website reads.
“The goalkeeper, who arrives from Palermo and has chosen the number two shirt, will be presented to the media tomorrow.”
