The Bosnian international turned down big money offers to remain at the Stadio Olimpico and did so because he believes they can win silverware.

“Last season was good and Juventus” data-scaytid=”10″>Juventus had an incredible campaign,” he told Roma Channel.

“The attitude has to be right, as this time around opponents expect us to go far and therefore approach us differently.

“Now we have quality and strength in depth, so we will adapt. Roma will aim very high this season.

“We have young players like Juan Iturbe, Antonio Sanabria, Adem Ljajic and Alessandro Florenzi. It’s important for the players to have competition for places and of course good for the Coach.”

Iturbe broke his Roma duck in Friday’s 4-1 friendly win over Wiener Sportklub, as captain Pjanic let the ex-Verona midfielder take a penalty.

“I knew it was important for his confidence to get off the mark and therefore this goal will become important for all of us. I was meant to take the spot-kick, but he felt ready and I was pleased to let him through.”
