Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has conceded that Matija Nastasic will leave the club, and could return to Serie A.
The Serbian youngster left Fiorentina in 2012 to sign for the Premier League champions, but has struggled to carve a place in their XI thanks to injury and other signings.
And the Chilean tactician has admitted that the 21-year-old is likely to leave the club this summer.
“Nastasic needs to play and we already have four central defenders,” he told reporters.
“Kompany, Demichelis, Mangala and Boyata. We’ll see what happens in the coming days.
“Nastasic is a great player, but I think the best thing for him is to go and play regularly.”
Rumours in several Italian outlets have thus linked the centre back with a return to the peninsula, with Juventus one of the potential options.
