Inter start Nemanja Vidic, Hernanes and Mauro Icardi in tonight’s Europa League play-off with Stjarnan.

The first leg kicks off in Iceland this evening at 22.00 UK time (21.00 GMT) with the decider at San Siro next Thursday.

Rodrigo Palacio has been removed from the squad list due to fitness concerns, so Ruben Botta partners Icardi in attack.

Hernanes and Mateo Kovacic pull the midfield strings with Jonathan and Dodo as wing-backs, while Vidic is at the centre of the defence.

There had been concerns about Dodo, but the Brazilian appears to have fully recovered from flu symptoms.

Stjarnan have already gone through three Europa League preliminary rounds, getting the better of Lech Poznan, Motherwell FC and Bangor City.

They are the lowest ranked side still in the running for this tournament.

Stjarnan Coach Runes Paul Sigmundsson assured “our objective is to get a result. Inter aren’t at their best yet and we have to face them with an intelligent approach.

“Inter are certainly the strongest opponents we have ever faced, but we know their strengths and their weaknesses.”

Stjarnan: Jónsson; Vemmelund, Rauschenberg, Laxdal, Arnason; Runarsson, A Johansson; Bjorgvinsson, Punyed, Finsen; Gunnarsson

Inter: Handanovic; Ranocchia, Vidic, Juan Jesus; Jonathan, Kovacic, M’Vila, Hernanes, Dodò; Botta; Icardi
