Mario Balotelli is edging closer to a move to Liverpool, with personal terms apparently agreed and his departure for a medical today set.

On from Liverpool agreeing a reported €20m fee with Milan for the striker, and he then bidding farewell to teammates at Milanello, agent Mino Raiola met with Reds officials yesterday to ratify personal terms.

Whilst no agreement was found during this first meeting, Raiola is seen as once more in discussions today with the Premier League side, and edging closer to reaching an agreement.

Speculation in parts is that an agreement has been reached and it is understood that Balotelli will accept a five-year contract with Liverpool, to pay an annual salary after tax of €6m.

The Gazzetta dello Sport speculate that an announcement is due imminently, but that the forward will not be registered in time to make his debut on Monday night away to former club Manchester City.

On from this, reports in Italy are that Balotelli is leaving for Liverpool today to undergo medical check-ups. It is believed that he will depart on a 1pm Italian time private flight from Brescia headed for the English city.

Reports in the UK are that the Merseyside outfit are also keen to insert more than the usual number of conduct and behavioural clauses into the contract.
